Ionic: Artist Brand Design

IONIC is a Seattle Based producer, vocalist, and audio mixer that reached out to me expressing that he wanted to establish a brand that they can develop as they grow as an artist. Included in Ionic’s brand vision were:

  • Logos

  • Youtube and Spotify banners

  • Landing page and Wireframes for website

Logo Design

As one of the first things that Ionic wanted to establish, we worked through the idea of Ions with a positive and negative charge, a clean futuristic style, and the integration of yellow, black, and white for contrast. As a result, I provided different sample logos to start off as a base in order to see what we wanted to keep and what could be left out.

From the samples, we decided to stick to the simplest form that would allow us to add “character” to the typeface.

Improvements

Final Product

As the final product, Ionic wanted to keep the type as a standalone logo and utilize the “Plus” and “Minus” symbols as a secondary emblem. Along with this, I suggested using the “IO” as a monogram logo that could later be used as a watermark.

Digital Banners

Now that the logos were solidified, the next steps were to implement them into visual assets that Ionic could use for digital marketing purposes. The goal here was to create banners that portrayed the edgy and eye catching styles of Ionic.

Website Design

The last thing that was left to be created was a wireframe for his Artist Website so that listeners would be able to connect and learn about him not just as a musician and producer, but as a model and independent creative as well. Keeping true to the “Ionic” style, I was able to design a website layout that was cohesive to the other assets while standing out from other websites.
