What is harbors vintage?

Harbors vintage is a local business located in Honolulu, Hi. centered around the world of vintage, streetwear, and sneakers, they have turned from a small business doing pop-ups into one of the main leaders of vintage curating in Hawai’i. While constantly growing their business, they also help promote other small local businesses by creating a community in which art, clothes, and creation can be cultivated.

digital marketing

Along with apparel design, I have also taken on the task of assisting with their digital marketing for store events such as pop-ups, clothing and school supplies drives, and their most famous Harbors MarketS where they bring together local businesses and create a farmers market of their own filled with clothes, food, drinks, and music!

By actively creating social media campaigns to promote events, we have been able to engage customers more by previewing new merchandise, proving vendor spotlights, and raffles for rare vintage collectors items. This in turn also creates interest from other small local businesses looking to gain exposure and grow.

Harbors Vintage: Royal Hawaiian Center

While working with harbors vintage, I was given the opportunity to participate in the opening of their newest location. With the success of their main store, Harbors Vintage has expanded their business straight into the heart of Waikiki and therefore gained more exposure and foot traffic. As their Graphic Designer, I wanted to help celebrate this monumental experience in any way that I could whether that be through apparel, logo design, and even store front signage.

The Harbors vintage Waikiki: logo design and location visibility

The first thing that I had discussed with the owner was a logo that would accompany the store. The look we wanted was something very reminiscent of Waikiki Vintage both in design and color. After doing some research, we came across a design that incorporated a lei, palm trees, and Location. From that we took the vibrant pink and green colors, as well as the floral elements, and created something of our own.

with my experience at aloha signs & graphics, I knew that a great way to make a business known was through store front signage such as vinyl lettering to help let the new audience and customers know what shopping at harbors vintage entails. the verbiage is simple and similar to that of the original store and with the choice of white for the color contrasts to the wooden background behind them so that it would be clean and readable.
